Discourse is a work in progress. Judging from the few sources we have
monitored, there have been hundreds (perhaps thousand) of violations.
We began documenting violations in the Fall of 2011. This list here
was only began at the beginning of April. It will continue to grow as new
violations are made and older violations, which have been collected, are
There are many violations, however,
that are pretty much public knowledge such as Sarah Palin's "death panel"
reference, Rush Limbaugh's calling a Georgetown University law student a
"slut," Donald Trump's assertion that Obama was not born in the United
States and Mike Huckabee's claim that Obama grew up in Kenya. Also
many people are aware of the false statements, the unsubstantiated claims
and the failure to address an issue by the GOP presidential candidates,
especially Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann.
