The following chronological listing of violations of the Rules for Public Discourse is a work in progress.  Judging from the few sources we have monitored, there have been hundreds (perhaps thousand) of violations.  We began documenting violations in the Fall of 2011.  This list here was only began at the beginning of April.  It will continue to grow as new violations are made and older violations, which have been collected, are listed.

There are many violations, however, that are pretty much public knowledge such as Sarah Palin's "death panel" reference, Rush Limbaugh's calling a Georgetown University law student a "slut," Donald Trump's assertion that Obama was not born in the United States and Mike Huckabee's claim that Obama grew up in Kenya.  Also many people are aware of the false statements, the unsubstantiated claims and the failure to address an issue by the GOP presidential candidates, especially Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann.

April 4, 2012, Pres. Barack Obama, Fourth Rule

March 27, 2012, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), Third and Ninth Rules

March 25, 2012, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, First and Fifth Rules.

March 23, 2012, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Third Rule.

January 22, 2012, Speaker of the House John Boehner, Third Rule.

January 7, 2012, presidential candidate Ron Paul, Third Rule. NBC presidential debate.

January 7, 2012, presidential candidate Mitt Romney, two Eighth Rule violations and four Third Rule violations. NBC presidential debate.

January 7, 2012, Texas Governor and presidential candidate Rick Perry, violation of Eighth Rule.  NBC presidential debate.

We have documented close to 40 violations which will slowly be added to this list.
